Lamb and Yogurt - Laban Immo
Description
Sitti's Lamb and Yogurt recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds lamb shank
- 2 medium size onions
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 4 cups yogurt
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- 1 egg
- 1 Tablespoon dried mint
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 stick butter
- cooked rice or noodles
Methods/steps
- In a large pot add the meat, salt, pepper,allspice and water. Boil for 20 minutes, skimming froth if needed. Add chopped onions and cook until meat is tender.
- Beat one egg into yogurt, add flour and cook on very low heat for 20 minutes. Add yogurt mixture to the meat. Fry garlic in the butter. Add to meat and yogurt mixture. Add mint. Cook for 10 more minutes.
- Serve with rice or noodles
